Maldives bans ‘Cofsy’ cough syrup over contamination fears

The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has issued an immediate ban on the import, sale, and use of a particular cough syrup after contaminants were found in the product.

Authorities have discovered that the syrup contains particles, leading to concerns over its safety.

As a precautionary measure, the MFDA has prohibited the import and distribution of this product until further investigations are completed.

Salbutamol Sulphate BP + Ambroxol Hydrochloride BP + Guaiphenesin BP + Menthol BP

Brand/Dosage Form/Strength:

Cofsy Syrup/ 1mg + 15mg + 50mg + 5mg per 5ml (100ml bottle)

Manufacturer/Country of Origin:

Mmc Health Care Ltd. No 34-B, Sidco Industrial Estate, Thirumazhisai, Chennai - 600 124, India
