Travel declaration no longer required for those heading abroad: Maldives Immigration
In a significant move to enhance travel efficiency, Maldives Immigration announced that departing passengers will no longer need to complete the ‘Traveller Declaration’ form starting August 15, 2024.
This decision was confirmed by Immigration in a statement released on Tuesday.
Previously, the requirement for Maldivians to fill out a travel declaration was removed on November 30 last year.
However, this new policy extends the exemption to all passengers departing the country, regardless of nationality.
While the declaration for those leaving the country is no longer necessary, inbound travelers must still complete the “Traveller Declaration” form within 96 hours prior to their arrival in the Maldives.
Maldives Immigration has assured that all other essential security and immigration protocols will remain firmly in place to ensure the safety and security of all travelers.
This change reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline the travel process and reduce unnecessary formalities for those leaving the country.
