Ruling party PNC wins three seats in Male’ City Council By-Election
The ruling Congress party has confirmed its victory over opposition MDP candidates in the by-election for the vacant seats in the Male’ City Council.
The Progressive National Congress (PNC) candidates contested three of the six seats and emerged victorious with the highest number of votes, marking a significant step forward for the ruling party.

The by-election saw Congress and MDP candidates competing for the seats, with the following Congress candidates winning:
- Fathimath Shaufa Saleem for Henveiru West
- Fathimath Ishan Ali for Machhangolhi Middle
- Ali Aiman for Hulhumale’
Voting took place from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm today, and the Election Commission described the election process as very peaceful and orderly.
