Three Maldivian ministers, including Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer, are scheduled to visit China from July 20 to 24, 2024, according to a statement released on Friday.

The visit is at the invitation of His Excellency Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and China's Foreign Minister.

During his stay, Foreign Minister Zameer will engage in official discussions with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, and meet with senior government officials.

He will also hold talks with key Chinese companies that have significantly contributed to the economic development of the Maldives.

Accompanying Minister Zameer on this visit will be the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq, the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdul Muththlib, and other senior government officials.

This visit underscores the current administration's ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with China.

Just last week, the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives met with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to discuss accelerating the implementation of agreements made during the President’s state visit to China earlier this year.
