The Foreign Ministry has announced that Maldivians traveling to Thailand will now enjoy a visa exemption for up to 60 days.

A press statement released today states that this will be effective from July 15.
This new regulation aims to facilitate travel for vacation, medical treatment, and business purposes.

Travelers wishing to extend their stay beyond the initial 60 days can apply to the Thai Immigration Department before their visa expires.
An additional extension of up to 30 days may be granted upon request, though this remains at the discretion of the Royal Thai Immigration authorities.

Thailand continues to be a popular destination for Maldivians,  mostly for medical purposes.
The new visa exemption is expected to enhance the travel experience for Maldivians visiting the country for various purposes.
