Indian Ambassador pays courtesy call on President Dr. Muizzu, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations

The Ambassador of India to the Maldives, Munu Mahawar, paid a courtesy visit to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu this afternoon at the President's office.

During their meeting, the two leaders discussed avenues for further strengthening bilateral relations and reviewed India's ongoing projects in the Maldives.

The Indian Ambassador expressed gratitude to President Dr Muizzu for attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony, highlighting the fruitful cooperation between the two nations.

He assured that India would continue to support the Maldives and its people in areas where assistance is needed.

President Dr Muizzu reciprocated the appreciation, thanking India for its hospitality during his visit and emphasizing the significance of India's commitment to the development and progress of the Maldives.

He stressed the importance of collaboration to maintain peace and stability in the Indian Ocean.

The meeting concluded with hopes for enhanced cooperation and stronger bilateral ties.

President Dr Muizzu was accompanied by the Foreign Minister, Moosa Zameer.

The administration of President Dr Muizzu aims to engage with the international community to accelerate the Maldives' development.
