The Maldives' first-ever rewards application Purplelane has been launched.

Purplelane has been developed by a local startup. The app has been introduced to customers as a new way for customers to get additional benefits by doing business and availing of various services through the application.

Purplelane is a rewards platform (which provides more rewards and benefits to customers) developed by four locals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The app was first rolled out in mid-2021. The first businesses offering rewards on the application as a test run were family room coffee, sea house and coffee shrub. 

After watching and testing for a year, the application was formally launched at a special function held on Tuesday. The app includes a range of new things aimed at customers, in addition to what was used during the test phase.

The Purplelane app is a mobile phone application that brings all types of rewards and corporate cards into a single system.
