Maldives receives 1500 Tonnes of mineral water donation from China

The Government of Maldives has received a generous donation of 1500 tonnes of mineral water from the people of the Xizang Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.

The donation was formally handed over at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.

The mineral water donation was received by  Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer and  Wang Lixin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Maldives, presented the donation on behalf of China.

This substantial donation will be distributed to various island communities across the Maldives, particularly for use during periods of drinking water shortages.

During the ceremony, Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer emphasized the strong and warm relations between Maldives and China.

He acknowledged China's steadfast friendship and support, especially during challenging times and crises.

Minister Zameer expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of the Xizang Autonomous Region for their kindness and to the Government and the people of China for their ongoing support and goodwill towards the Maldives.

This act of generosity underscores the close ties between the two nations and highlights China's role as a reliable ally to the Maldives in times of need.
