Former President and current advisor of the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP), Mohamed Solih, has delivered a strong message, proclaiming that the top priority is the removal of President Muizzu from office.

Solih made these remarks during a campaign rally held last night in Lh. Hinnavaru, where he criticized the current government's direction, accusing it of deceiving the public with falsehoods.

He specifically referenced recent troubling statements allegedly made by a Ha. Dhihdhoo Fenaka branch assistant manager, Abdulla Rasheed insinuating favoritism in providing electricity only to ruling party members' houses.

Solih condemned such behavior from all levels of authority within the current administration, stating that they are unfit to govern.

Electricity is a fundamental necessity, and denying it to certain individuals based on political affiliation is unacceptable. Such actions should not be tolerated in governance. Regrettably, the only solution is to remove these individuals from power before we face darker days ahead

expressed former President Solih.

Solih further emphasized the need for MDP to secure a majority in parliament to enact legislation preventing arbitrary terminations of employment.

He outlined plans to introduce a bill that would safeguard job security by prohibiting government companies from terminating employees at will.

Additionally, he addressed the change in the political landscape since his tenure, noting that job security was not threatened during the 2019 parliamentary elections.
