Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) and Fuvahmulah City Council have joined hands today to initiate the development of a tourism zone in Fuvahmulah city.

The collaboration aims to attract investors and facilitate the construction of a tourism hub adjacent to the city's airport.

The Memorandum of Association (MoU) was signed by Ahmed Mubeen, Managing Director of RACL, and Mayor Ismail Rafeeq of Fuvahmulah City Council.

According to the agreement, the tourism zone will be established in Bilhifeyshi, located alongside the airport. RACL is tasked with securing funding and investors for the project.

Concept drawings for the project have already been prepared by RACL and the Fuvahmulah City Council, outlining plans for the construction of 108 guest rooms within the designated area.

RACL emphasizes that the project will utilize unused land, thereby benefiting the local community.

Moreover, the development is expected to boost the guesthouse industry in Fuvahmulah, enhance the city's visibility in the global tourism market, and increase activity at Fuvahmulah Airport.

This, in turn, is anticipated to drive economic growth in the region and create job opportunities for residents.

The collaboration between RACL and Fuvahmulah City Council marks a significant step towards leveraging the potential of Fuvahmulah as a prominent tourist destination in the Maldives.
