President Muizzu has launched the “ Riveli” programme during a meeting at the Taj Hotel with the Maldivian community residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The programme that was launched on Wednesday is part of the President's ongoing visit to the UAE, reflecting a commitment to upholding the principles of nationalism outlined in his manifesto.

Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu, present at the ceremony, highlighted the programme's core focus on teaching Islam and Dhivehi to Maldivians living abroad.

Dr. Shafeeu announced plans for the expansion of the programme, revealing the creation of a dedicated online channel to facilitate remote learning for Maldivians across the globe.

During the inauguration, Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer emphasized the government's dedication to extending the benefits of the Riveli Programme beyond the UAE.

He confirmed ongoing efforts to establish arrangements for teaching Islam and Dhivehi to Maldivians residing in countries such as Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

The Riveli Programme holds significance as a vital component of the President's commitment to nurturing a sense of nationalism among Maldivians, even those residing abroad.

This educational initiative underscores the government's determination to provide Maldivians with access to their cultural and religious heritage, fostering a strong sense of identity and community.

As the program takes root, it stands poised to become a beacon of educational outreach for the Maldivian diaspora, bridging the gap between communities and reinforcing cultural ties.

The government's proactive approach in extending the Riveli Programme globally reflects a dedication to ensuring the accessibility of education in Islam and Dhivehi for all Maldivians, regardless of their geographic location.
