The government is poised to kickstart discussions with the Egyptian company 'The Arab Contractors' for the construction of the Addu Bridge.

Minister Abdulla Nazim, in yesterday's press conference at the President's office, revealed that the Egyptian company has submitted a proposal for the Addu Bridge project.

Remarkably, 'The Arab Contractors' has indicated a willingness to undertake the necessary surveys for the bridge at no cost.

The Economic Council has expressed approval, contingent upon the successful commencement and progression of these forthcoming discussions.

As a leading construction entity in the Middle East and Africa, 'The Arab Contractors' boasts an extensive portfolio, managing ongoing projects in 29 countries.

This strategic move follows the recent visit of the president to China, during which undisclosed proposals for the bridge project surfaced from various investors.

However, specific details regarding these proposals remain undisclosed.

The current year's budget has allocated a substantial 30 million for the Addu Bridge project, underscoring the government's dedication to advancing this pivotal infrastructure initiative.
