The President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has decided to attend the COP-28 held in Dubai later this month. .

The United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP28 - will be held in Dubai from November 30 to December. 

According to him yesterday, this year’s COP meeting is important for developing small island nations like Maldives, to facilitate the use of the “Loss and Damage Fund” and ensure better outcomes are achieved in the inaugural “Global Stock Take”.

He also said that everyone should work together to protect and save the world's environment.

President Muizzu said that Maldives would give full cooperation to the UAE to ensure the success of COP-28. 

This is the first international summit / conference that President Muizzu will attend as President. His first state visit,  was also scheduled for this month. First, he will visit Maldives friendly Saudi Arabia.
