JMC workers protest near Indian High Commission
Workers of JMC, a company contracted by Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation for a housing project in Hulhumale phase 2, gathered near Indian High Commission and protested today.
The workers began their protest 3 days prior due to unpaid wages and several other issues and were disbanded by the Police today as well as yesterday.
Speaking to 'Voice' a JMC employee stated that their main complaints were unpaid wages, lack of provision of proper food and medical treatment.
The employee also stated that one worker was arrested yesterday and still hadn’t been released despite the Police stating that they would do so within 4 hours.
He highlighted this as another issue that caused them to gather near the commission today.
Even previously JMC employees had protested due to unpaid wages.
