Pakistan High Commission in Maldives celebrated Pakistan Day
Pakistan High Commission in Maldives celebrated Pakistan Day 23rd March with national spirit. A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the High Commission today at 0900 am. National Anthem was played while H.E. Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, High Commissioner hoisted the National Flag. A good number of Pakistani living in the Maldives attended the ceremony.
While speaking, Deputy Head of Mission Zulqurnain Ahmad welcomed the guests and extended felicitations on the happy occasion of Pakistan Day and Ramadan Kareem. He paid rich tribute to the forefathers whose boundless sacrifices resulted in the creation of precious homeland, Pakistan on 14 August 1947.
H.E. Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani, High Commissioner said the 23rd of March is an important day in their national history that reminds them of their past, invites us to ponder over our present state of affairs and inspires us to build a prosperous future. He said as a member of the international community, Pakistan has played the role of a responsible nation in the resolution of problems facing humanity and the establishment of global peace. He said that they need to adhere to the principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline given by Quid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He paid tribute to the Kashmiri brothers and sisters, who have been striving for their legitimate right to self-determination in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
High Commissioner extended Ramadan Greetings to the Government and brotherly people of the Maldives. He said Pakistan and Maldives have been enjoying cordial relations and noted that the relations will further be strengthened in the times to come. He wished brotherly people of Maldives, a continued progress and development.
