President Dr. Muizzu highlights strong Maldives-Singapore ties, calls for greater cooperation
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with Singapore, expressing his desire to work closely with both Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to advance shared goals of peace, stability and sustainable development.
In messages marking Singapore’s National Day, President Dr. Muizzu extended congratulations on behalf of the Maldivian government and people while emphasizing the importance of the close and friendly relationship between the two countries.
The President highlighted the continued growth of bilateral cooperation in areas including trade, investment, education, capacity building and people-to-people exchanges.
He expressed confidence that closer engagement with Singapore’s leadership would help further expand cooperation across these areas.
President Dr. Muizzu also praised Singapore’s role as a regional example of innovation and progress, expressing hope that the country would continue to prosper and contribute to regional development.
At the same time, he underscored the enduring friendship between the Maldives and Singapore, describing the relationship as one built on mutual respect, trust and a shared commitment to regional peace and prosperity.

The messages come as the Maldives continues to pursue closer cooperation with Singapore in areas supporting economic development, human capital and regional stability.
