President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed that empowering young people remains one of the Government's highest priorities, highlighting ongoing efforts to expand opportunities in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and sports.

The President made the remarks during the fifth episode of The Pulse, the President's Office podcast series, which focused on youth development and addressed issues affecting young Maldivians.

He outlined several initiatives aimed at improving economic and educational opportunities, while emphasizing the Government's continued investment in sports infrastructure nationwide.

According to the President, these projects are progressing across the Maldives and are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2028, helping promote healthier and more active communities.

The President also stressed the importance of mental well-being, noting that the Government is implementing broader support measures to strengthen mental health services for young people.

On economic empowerment, he highlighted loan programs designed to encourage youth entrepreneurship and increase private sector participation.

He also pointed to ongoing efforts to address challenges created by undocumented expatriate workers, describing the issue as one that requires a coordinated national response.

President Dr. Muizzu further reaffirmed the Administration's goal of increasing the creative economy's contribution to at least 15 percent of the country's Gross Domestic Product by 2030, supported by policies intended to expand opportunities for young professionals and entrepreneurs.

He concluded by emphasizing the Government's long-term commitment to prioritizing Maldivians in employment and business, developing local talent, and ensuring graduates enter the workforce with strong academic or vocational qualifications.
