President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Qatar's newly appointed Ambassador to the Maldives, Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sanad Al-Dosari, have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including the economy, tourism, investment, and infrastructure development.

Ambassador Al-Dosari officially presented his Letter of Credence to President Dr. Muizzu during a ceremony held at the President's Office, formally beginning his diplomatic mission in the Maldives.

In keeping with Maldivian tradition, the ambassador was escorted to the President's Office in the ceremonial Haiykolhu procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.

Following the presentation of credentials, President Dr. Muizzu welcomed Ambassador Al-Dosari and held discussions on a range of shared priorities.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in economic development, tourism, infrastructure projects, investment opportunities, and financial collaboration between the two countries.

The President also reflected on his recent official visit to Qatar, noting the strong and longstanding relationship shared by the Maldives and Qatar.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to further deepening bilateral ties and exploring new opportunities for cooperation that would benefit both nations.

The Maldives and Qatar established diplomatic relations on May 26, 1984, and have continued to strengthen cooperation across multiple sectors over the past four decades.

The appointment of the new ambassador is expected to further enhance collaboration and reinforce the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
