President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Uz Amjad Musthafa as the new President of the Employment Tribunal during a ceremony held at the President's Office.

The appointment was formalized at a special ceremony on Monday morning, where Amjad took the oath of office before President Dr. Muizzu.

The oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Hameed, after which the President presented the newly appointed tribunal head with his official letter of appointment.

Amjad holds a Bachelor's Degree in Shari'a and Law as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

He brings extensive experience in both the legal profession and public administration to the role.

Over the course of his career, Amjad has served in several key positions, including as a member of the Minimum Wage Advisory Board, where he contributed to labor policy and employment-related matters.

This marks Amjad's second tenure as head of the Employment Tribunal, having previously served as its President in 2020.

His reappointment returns an experienced legal professional to lead the tribunal, which is responsible for adjudicating employment-related disputes and ensuring the implementation of labor laws in the Maldives.
