Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ali Ihusaan has called for stronger community support for people recovering from drug addiction, saying social stigma and exclusion remain some of the biggest challenges they face after rehabilitation.

The remarks were made during a ceremony held to award commemorative certificates to more than 300 participants who successfully completed the Drug Court rehabilitation program.

The minister said helping recovering individuals reintegrate into society is just as important as treating addiction itself.

He emphasized the need for employers, businesses, and the wider community to provide opportunities that allow former drug users to rebuild their lives and maintain their recovery.

The ceremony recognized the achievements of graduates who completed the specialized rehabilitation program under the Drug Court.

Officials described the initiative as an important step toward supporting long-term recovery and reducing repeat drug-related offenses.

The Chief Judge of the Drug Court noted that overcoming addiction requires determination and commitment, adding that the successful completion of the program reflects the hard work of every participant.

National Drug Agency Chairman Ahmed Siddeeq also encouraged graduates to continue moving forward and become positive role models for others battling addiction.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining healthy habits, personal discipline, and spiritual values to help prevent relapse and support long-term recovery.
