President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has called for unity, compassion, and spiritual renewal in his Eid al-Fitr message, while expressing solidarity with Muslims facing hardship around the world.

In his address, the President noted that this year’s Eid comes at a time of significant distress for the global Islamic community.

He affirmed that the Maldivian people stand in firm support of Palestinians and others in the Middle East enduring ongoing suffering, and extended prayers for peace, security, and relief.

President Dr Muizzu highlighted that the true spirit of Eid lies in gratitude to Almighty Allah, acts of kindness, and strengthening bonds within society.

He urged citizens to use the occasion to nurture both personal and collective peace, while upholding Islamic values in their celebrations.

Reflecting on Ramadan, he encouraged the public to carry forward its lessons by practicing patience, speaking with kindness, and engaging in righteous deeds.

He also pointed to the six days of fasting in Shawwal as a reminder of Islam’s emphasis on continued devotion beyond the holy month.

Concluding his message, the President offered prayers for the protection and success of the Islamic Ummah, as well as for peace and prosperity in the Maldives.
