IGMH urges public to take precautions as fever cases increase
Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has urged the public to take precautionary measures following a rise in fever and other related illnesses.
In a statement issued on Monday, the hospital said there has been an increase in patients admitted with asthma, diarrhoea, and dengue fever.
IGMH advised the public to observe basic preventive measures, including wearing a mask when visiting public places or hospitals, particularly if experiencing flu-like symptoms.
The hospital also stressed the importance of paying special attention to vulnerable groups, including the elderly, people with chronic illnesses, children, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
In addition, IGMH urged the public to maintain proper hygiene by washing hands regularly with soap and using hand sanitiser.
The hospital also called on the public to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and take necessary measures to prevent mosquito bites.
IGMH further advised people to avoid visiting the hospital unless it is necessary.
In response to the rise in fever and asthma cases, the hospital has opened a flu clinic, which will operate daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
