Immigration raids four massage parlors in Malé, four foreigners arrested
The Maldives Immigration conducted operations in Malé City, searching four massage parlors as part of efforts to identify illegally operated foreign businesses.
The raids resulted in the arrest of four foreign nationals residing in the country without valid visas.
According to Immigration, the operation was carried out by a task force established to monitor and take action against unlicensed businesses and foreigners working without proper documentation.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has since taken measures to suspend operations at the four establishments involved, issuing formal notices to halt their business activities.
The government has been placing heightened emphasis on addressing illegal foreign employment and unauthorized business operations in the Maldives.
Immigration authorities, in collaboration with other relevant agencies, continue to implement enforcement measures, including repatriation of individuals found living or working in violation of immigration laws.
Officials have stated that these efforts form part of a wider national initiative to regulate foreign employment, protect legitimate business operations, and safeguard economic integrity.
