The International Aid Campaign (IAC) has launched a donation drive to support communities across Southeast Asia that have been displaced by severe flooding caused by an unusually powerful typhoon.

In a social media announcement, the organisation said it has already begun distributing the aid received so far and is continuing to provide temporary assistance in several storm-hit countries.

IAC has now expanded the opportunity for the public to contribute further to relief efforts.

Donations will support affected communities in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Those wishing to assist can deposit funds into the following accounts under the name International Aid Campaign:

BML Islamic: 7770000062744

MIB: 90101555002111003

Account Name: International Aid Campaign

The organisation noted that its projected expenditure includes an average allocation of 12.5 percent for project operations, maintenance, administrative costs, and programme development.

Sri Lanka remains among the hardest hit, receiving 300 mm of rainfall within two days the highest recorded in such a short period.

More than 219,000 people have been affected, with the death toll from Cyclone Ditwah rising to 123, while over 130 remain missing.
