Saudi Arabia has donated 25,500 copies of the Holy Quran to the Maldives, marking another significant contribution to the country’s religious institutions and Quranic education.

A handover ceremony was held on Thursday at the Islamic Centre auditorium, attended by the Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani, senior officials from the Saudi Embassy, and top representatives from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

During the event, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed expressed his appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their continued support and the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
He also extended thanks to the Saudi Ambassador and the Embassy staff for their efforts.

The donation includes large-format Mushafs, which will be distributed to Quran memorisation programmes, mosques, and Islamic centres throughout the Maldives.

With this latest batch, Saudi Arabia’s total Quran donations to the Maldives this year have reached 50,500 copies.
