Pakistan rejects Indian media allegations of involvement in Pathankot, Jaisalmer, Srinagar attacks
The Government of Pakistan has strongly rejected what it calls "baseless and irresponsible allegations" leveled by the Indian media, accusing Pakistan of involvement in recent attacks on Pathankot, Jaisalmer, and Srinagar.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically denied any link to the incidents, labeling the accusations as "entirely unfounded" and part of a "reckless propaganda campaign" aimed at maligning Pakistan and destabilizing the region.
The repeated pattern of leveling accusations against Pakistan without any credible investigation reflects a deliberate strategy to manufacture a pretext for aggression
the statement said
adding that such actions not only undermine regional stability but also point to a concerning willingness to manipulate misinformation for political and military ends.
Calling on the international community to take serious note of what it described as dangerous behavior, the Pakistani government urged India to act with restraint and responsibility.
The statement warned that any escalation based on false pretenses would be met with full resolve.
Pakistan remains vigilant and firmly committed to peace, but it will not be deterred by attempts to provoke, intimidate, or mislead
the statement concluded
reiterating Pakistan’s right to respond to any act of aggression in defense of its sovereignty.
The current India-Pakistan escalation began after a deadly attack on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir, where 26 tourists were killed.
The Resistance Front (TRF) initially claimed responsibility, prompting India to accuse Pakistan of harboring militants, an allegation Islamabad denied.
In retaliation, India launched "Operation Sindoor" on May 7, targeting alleged militant infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, which Pakistan condemned as a breach of its sovereignty, warning of consequences and triggering the ongoing military standoff.
