A young man passed away suddenly this afternoon while working at a construction site in Fuvahmulah.

According to Maldives Police Service, the incident was reported at 12:11 p.m.

The deceased has been identified as Abdulla Rishdhan, 27, of Abadha’hiyaage, R. Alifushi.

Police stated that Rishdhan collapsed unexpectedly while on duty at the site and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

They also confirmed that he had sustained facial injuries, though the exact cause of death and the nature of the injuries have not been disclosed.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
