Maldivian fish would soon be exempted from UK duties: Speaker Nasheed
Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has stated that the UK will soon exempt duties on Maldivian Fish.
Nasheed delivered the following information via his Twitter account last night. He stated that his friends and several British government officials had said that duties on Maldivian fish imported from the Maldives would be stopped in the next two months.
This is wonderful news. This is because of the great work of some British leaders who wanted good for the Maldives
Said Nasheed
Presently, Maldivian Fish exported to Europe has a duty of 22 percent which significantly increases the prices of fish exported from the Maldives.
Nasheed's remarks come at a time when the government announced that Europe would soon also provide relief on duties.
