Public Service Media (PSM) has appointed Ibrahim Nasreen as its new Managing Director, following the resignation of Mohamed Saeed.

Nasreen, who previously served as the Marketing Director at PSM, takes over leadership of the state broadcaster, although the reasons for Saeed's resignation have not yet been disclosed.

Nasreen brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked at PSM for nearly nine years.

He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Service Innovation from Thammasat University’s College of Innovation and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Limkokwing.

In addition to his work at PSM, Nasreen is an active part-time lecturer at Maps College and Cyryx College and serves as a board member of the Maldives Ocean Plastic Alliance (MOPA).

Nasreen's previous achievements include presenting at the 2015 American Travel and Tourism Research Association Tourism Research Conference, where he won the Best Master's Student Research Award.

In recognition of his work, he was awarded the Presidential Special Award for Excellence by the government in 2016.

Nasreen's appointment marks the third change in leadership at PSM in just over a year.

Mohamed Saeed, who had been appointed Managing Director in August, succeeded Zeena Zahir, who resigned just months after her appointment in November.
