Ambassador Dr. Fazeel presents credentials to Chinese President Xi Jinping

Dr. Fazeel Najeeb, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Maldives to China, formally presented his Letter of Credence to Chinese President Xi Jinping at a ceremony held today at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

During the event, Ambassador Fazeel extended warm greetings and best wishes from Maldivian President Dr. Muizzu and the people of the Maldives to President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people.

President Xi welcomed Ambassador Fazeel, congratulating him on his new role, and reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Maldives and China share a long-standing diplomatic relationship, established on October 14, 1972.

Over the years, China has played a significant role in the economic and infrastructure development of the Maldives.

Ambassador Fazeel is the fifth Maldivian envoy to hold this position.
