Maldivian man found dead in Bangalore Hotel, investigation ongoing
A 43-year-old man, identified as Hassan Suhail, was found dead in his hotel room in Bangalore's RT Nagar area on Wednesday.
Suhail had checked into Kanaka Krishna Comforts in Ganganagar on November 10 after arriving in the city from the Maldives.
According to The Times of India, the hotel staff became concerned when Suhail did not leave his room, nor did he order any food.
After several failed attempts to reach him, the hotel contacted the police.
Upon entering the room, authorities discovered Suhail's body.
While the exact cause of death is still unknown, police suspect it may have been caused by cardiac arrest, potentially triggered by dehydration and low blood pressure, as traces of vomiting were found near the bathroom.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Suhail had initially booked a flight from Bangalore to Bhopal for November 11 but did not board it.
He later arranged flights from Bhopal to Mumbai and then back to the Maldives, though these plans were also unfulfilled.
Authorities are now investigating why he chose to remain in Bengaluru and did not follow through with his travel itinerary.
The Maldives Embassy in India has been notified, and authorities are awaiting to inform Suhail’s family and get their approval for post-mortem.
A post-mortem could then be carried out to determine the precise cause of death, while investigations into his travel to Bangalore are also ongoing.
Bangalore is a popular destination for many Maldivians seeking medical treatment, due to its well-established healthcare facilities and specialized services.
