MBS claims victory over CFS, wins women’s division championship in MNU SU Football Fiesta
Maldives Business School (MBS) secured a decisive victory over the Center for Foundation Studies (CFS) with a 6-0 score in the women’s final of the “10th MNU SU Football Fiesta 2024.”
The tournament, organized by the Maldives National University, concluded with a thrilling championship match that showcased MBS’s dominance.
In their journey to the final, MBS edged past Villa College 1-0 in the first semi-final, while CFS defeated the School of Nursing (SN) 2-0 in the second.
MBS took control early in the championship match, ending the first half with an impressive 5-0 lead.
Despite a stronger defensive effort from CFS in the second half, MBS scored an additional goal which sealed their victory.
Contributing to MBS’s winning performance were Fathimath Azma Ahmed, Fathimath Sameera, Fathimath Saina, Fathimath Nuzma Nazim, and Saniyya Abdul Samad, who each netted a goal.
Sada Anwar from CFS inadvertently netted a goal for MBS, contributing to their lead.
MBS captain Fathimath Saina was awarded Best Player of the Match for her exceptional performance.
The tournament featured 12 teams, divided into four groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
Running from October 24 to November 8, 2024, the event awarded MVR 10,000 to the championship team and MVR 5,000 to the runner-up, making it a highly competitive event.
