Hamna Ahmed breaks two national swimming records in Hungary
Maldivian swimmer Hamna Ahmed has set two new national records at the Hajós Alfréd Kupa III, an international short course competition held in Hungary.
Hamna achieved a time of 1:23.76 in the women’s 100m breaststroke, surpassing the previous record set by Aishath Sajina at the 2019 South Asian Games.
Continuing her impressive streak, Hamna also broke her own national record in the women’s 50m breaststroke, clocking in at 00.37.13 seconds.
She had set the previous record of 00.37.88 seconds last year during the Hungarian Short Course National Championships.
These accomplishments mark significant progress in Maldivian swimming, with Hamna’s performances highlighting her dedication and the nation’s growing presence in international swimming events.
