The BML 20th Interschool Swimming Competition, organized by the Swimming Association of Maldives and sponsored by the Bank of Maldives (BML), has concluded with several outstanding young swimmers being recognized for their exceptional performances.

The competition took place from October 12 to 17, 2024, at the Hulhumale’ Swimming Pool, featuring more than 480 students from 21 schools across the city.

Among the top performers were Ibrahim Yuaan Shameem of Ghaazee School, Mariyam Ayra Shirneel, Zukain Abdulla Haneef, Izyan Nazim, and Ayana Areef of Ghiyasuddin International School, and Amna Thazkiya Mirsaad of Finland International School. Mohamed Rihan Shiham from Villa International High School was also named the best swimmer in his category.

The following swimmers were recognized as the best in their respective categories:

- Junior A (Under 12) Boys: Ibrahim Yuaan Shameem (Ghaazee School)

- Junior A (Under 12) Girls: Mariyam Ayra Shirneel (Ghiyasuddin International School)

- Junior B (Under 14) Boys: Zukain Abdulla Haneef (Ghiyasuddin International School)

- Junior B (Under 14) Girls: Amna Thazkiya Mirsaad (Finland International School)

- Senior A (Under 16) Boys: Izyan Nazim (Ghiyasuddin International School)

- Senior A (Under 16) Girls: Ayana Areef (Ghiyasuddin International School)

- Senior B (Under 18) Boys: Mohamed Rihan Shiham (Villa International High School)

The competition saw a wide range of categories and events, with students competing in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly races.

The Bank of Maldives officials, including Aminath Shiba Zahir, Head of Credit, and Fathimath Maleeha Jamal, Head of Customer Service, presented the trophies and certificates to the winners at the closing ceremony.
