Mohammed Rihan Shiham and Ayana Areef secured victories in their respective categories at the national 5km swimming championship.

Rihan took first place in the men's event, followed by Yaaseen Mohamed Yoosuf in second place and Mubal Azzam Ibrahim in third.

In the women's category, Ayana Areef claimed the top spot, with Aishath Aleena Shahid finishing second and Lyba Hassan Manik placing third.

The championship, held on September 27 and 28, saw a total of 240 participants, including 149 men and 91 women, competing for the coveted titles.
