President Dr Muizzu expresses gratitude to Barbados Prime Minister and government

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister of Barbados, H.E. the Hon. Mia Amor Mottley, SC, M.P, and the Government of Barbados for their warm hospitality during his stopover in Barbados today.

Upon arriving at Grantley Adams International Airport, President Dr Muizzu was warmly welcomed by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. C. Sandra V. Husbands, and Chief of Protocol, Ms. Resa Layne.

He and his delegation toured cultural and historical sites in Barbados.

In a phone call with Prime Minister Mottley, who was abroad, President Muizzu praised Barbados's landmarks and natural beauty.

He commended Mottley's leadership at the SIDS4 conference on international financial reforms and expressed hopes for future collaboration on the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS.

President Muizzu's stopover was part of his return journey to the Maldives after attending the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) in St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, held from May 27-30, 2024.
