In a remarkable display of skill and teamwork, two pairs representing the Maldives have triumphed in the doubles event of the ongoing Asian Carrom Championship, securing coveted spots in the Semi-Finals.

The championship, which commenced on April 27th and is set to conclude on May 1st, is being held at the Social Centre Indoor Hall in Maldives.

Among the standout performances, Hassan Nazim (Naana) and Ismail Azmeen's duo showcased exceptional prowess in this morning's match earning their Semi-Final berth by defeating Singapore's Lenus Paul and Balaji in a riveting match.

They now brace themselves for a challenging encounter against the formidable Indian duo, Sandeep Dive and Jugal Kishor Datta, in the upcoming Semi-Finals.

Additionally, Aminath Vidhaadh and Aishath Nahufa's pair demonstrated remarkable resilience to overcome Sri Lanka's Tarushi Himahansika and Hirushi Malshani's pair, thus earning their place in the Semi-Finals.

Their next opponents are set to be the talented Indian duo of Rashmi Kumari and K. Nagajyothi.

The championship has garnered significant attention and excitement after an 11-year hiatus, attracting participants from a diverse array of countries including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.
