WAMCO will offer free delivery for bulk plastic bag purchases only!
Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has announced a new initiative in response to the government's recent plastic bag reform. With rising prices affecting consumers, WAMCO will now offer free delivery of plastic bags for bulk buyers only.
It was announced by WAMCO that bin-liners can now be preordered by the public. The announcement, made yesterday, stated that a minimum of 24 bags can be ordered for preorders.
Public concerns regarding the purchase of 24 packs of plastic bags was responded to by WAMCO by clarifying that it is the minimum amount for free delivery and is designed to benefit businesses through bulk purchasing.
The availability of a dedicated link for ordering plastic bags with delivery promised within three weekdays, was also included in the announcement.
WAMCO has announced that locals can purchase bags directly from their Male', Hulhumale', and Villimale' waste transfer stations between 11am to 3pm.
A new range of waste management bags was launched by WAMCO, in green and black, available in three sizes: large, double x, and triple x large.
Customers can purchase 100 bags of large size for 35 Rufiyaa, while 100 bags of double x large size are available for 165 Rufiyaa. Triple x large size bags are sold in a pack of 50 bags for 165 Rufiyaa.
WAMCO has announced that green bags should be used to pack biodegradable and decomposable trash, while black bags should be used for all other types of waste.
