The Government of the Republic of Maldives has strongly condemned the deadly attack carried out at a mosque in Islamabad’s Tarlai area during Friday prayers on February 6, which claimed the lives of several worshippers and left many others injured.

In a statement issued today, the Maldivian government described the incident as a heinous act of violence and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives.

The Maldives extended its heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, conveying particular sympathy to the families of the victims.

The statement also wished a swift and full recovery to those injured in the attack.
