The Uligan Island Council invites investors to submit bids to develop a guesthouse and a city hotel on the island. 

The Uligan Island Council invites bids for proposals for the island's guesthouse and city hotel's leasing, development, construction, management, and operation. Interested parties could participate in a virtual information session on January 26th. Before the online session, interested parties must first register for the session before 14:00 hours on January 25. Those who wish to participate must send an email to [email protected] indicating their interest. Interested parties who possess the necessary financial and technical know-how are encouraged to participate in this auction and submit their proposal by February 9 at 1300 hours.

A prior plan to build a city hotel and yacht marina with help from the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) was abandoned after 75% of the work had been finished. A 25-room building and a staff housing complex have been constructed as a result.
