Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar to attend the Hanimadhoo Airport project inauguration ceremony

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is scheduled to attend the commencement ceremony of the international airport in Hanimaadhoo during his visit to the Maldives. 

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jaishankar is scheduled to visit the northernmost atolls during his official visit to the Maldives today and tomorrow.

The Ministry's statement further stated that Jaishankar will also attend a ceremony in Hanimadhoo later in the evening. 

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is currently in the northernmost atolls on a campaign tour for MDP's presidential primary. Jaishankar is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call to President Solih during his visit according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid also tweeted that he is currently travelling to Noonu Atoll Maafaru to receive the External Affairs Minister Jaishankar. 

This will be Jaishankar's fourth visit to the Maldives since he took over as external affairs minister in 2019.

His last official visit to the Maldives was in March 2022 in Addu City.
