Tourism, trade & ties: 11 envoys present credentials to President Dr. Muizzu
In a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office, several non-resident ambassadors and high commissioners officially presented their Letters of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
Each diplomat was escorted from Republic Square to the President’s Office in a traditional “Haiykolhu” cultural procession accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
The meetings focused on strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the Maldives and the respective nations.
President Dr. Muizzu welcomed Dr Alireza Delkhosh, Non-Resident Ambassador of Iran.
Their conversation revolved around strengthening bilateral ties, technical exchanges, and people-to-people engagement.
The President also reaffirmed Maldives' support for peace in the Middle East and condemned Israel’s recent actions, aligning with the Ambassador's expression of gratitude for this stance.
Fleming Raul Duarte Ramos, the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay to the Maldives, met with President Dr. Muizzu following the presentation of his credentials.
Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in trade, economic development, education, and tourism.
Both leaders placed special emphasis on sports and cultural exchanges to enhance mutual understanding.

The Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the Maldives, Evagoras Vryonides, discussed opportunities in trade, tourism, and education with the President.
The meeting also touched on potential healthcare collaboration and underscored the benefits of people-to-people exchanges, particularly in areas shared by both island nations.

Juan Antonio March Pujol, Non-Resident Ambassador of Spain, highlighted the growing number of Spanish tourists visiting the Maldives.
Both parties expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in trade, technology, and economic growth, especially with the upcoming expansion of Velana International Airport.

Adel Ibrahim, Non-Resident Ambassador of Egypt, discussed higher education, economic cooperation, and healthcare partnerships with President Dr. Muizzu.
Diplomatic ties were established in: February 12, 1969.
Conte Alassane, the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea, met with the President to discuss potential collaboration in investment, economic affairs, and environmental matters.
Both sides reiterated their intention to deepen bilateral relations.

The Non-Resident High Commissioner of Kenya, Peter Munyiri Maina, explored opportunities in tourism and trade with President Dr. Muizzu.

May-Elin Stener, the Non-Resident Ambassador of Norway, expressed interest in renewable energy partnerships after President Dr. Muizzu highlighted Maldives' national target of generating 33% of its energy from renewable sources.
Educational ties and opportunities for Maldivian students in Norway were also discussed.

Rath Many, the Non-Resident Ambassador of Cambodia, spoke with the President about enhancing bilateral ties, with a focus on tourism, trade, and investment.

Lukmon Bobokalonzoda, the Non-Resident Ambassador of Tajikistan, and President Dr. Muizzu explored ways to strengthen cooperation in education, healthcare, tourism, trade, and investment.

Dr Purna Bahadur Nepali, the Non-Resident Ambassador of Nepal, engaged in talks focused on reinforcing the longstanding relationship between the two countries, with a particular focus on healthcare, agriculture, and education.
