Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel is attending the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), currently taking place amid a backdrop of intensifying conflict and geopolitical instability in the Islamic world.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the world’s second-largest intergovernmental body after the United Nations, comprising 57 member states from four continents.

It represents the collective voice of the Muslim world and aims to safeguard and protect the interests of Muslims globally, in line with peace, security, and international cooperation.

In a post on social media platform ‘X’, Dr. Khaleel said the annual meeting brings together foreign ministers from OIC member states to deliberate on the pressing issues facing the Islamic Ummah.

This year’s agenda is heavily centered on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, following Israel’s continued military offensive, widely condemned as genocidal, and the escalation of tensions with Iran that has led to cross-border attacks.

The 51st session is expected to see extensive discussions on these two major challenges, which have further destabilized the region and heightened the need for unified diplomatic action among Muslim-majority countries.

Leaders will also address broader themes of solidarity, humanitarian aid, and collective strategies to safeguard the rights and dignity of Muslim communities worldwide.
