Maldives Police Service has arrested three individuals from a Hiyaa apartment in Hulhumalé Phase 2 on drug and alcohol-related charges.

The arrests were made during a raid conducted by the Counter-Narcotics Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Department under a court order.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Mohamed Rishfan (28) – Thundi, Milano, L. Gan

Hussain Shiyan (23) – Mathimaradhoo, Riyaal, L. Gan

Hawwa Simana (29) – Thundi, Feeni Villa, L. Gan

According to the police, officers discovered a can and five rubber packets containing substances suspected to be drugs, along with a 500ml bottle believed to contain alcohol, during a search of an apartment in Hiyaa Tower 9 last Wednesday.

Following their arrest, the court has ordered a 15-day remand for Rishfan and Shiyan, while Simana has been remanded for five days. The investigation is ongoing.

In a separate case, a woman was arrested on the 19th of this month in Hulhumalé Phase 1 with 14 kilograms of drugs.

She has been identified as Mariyam Zeena (23) from H.A. Thuraakunu. Zeena was presented before the court and has been remanded for 15 days.

Police have not disclosed further details, and investigations into both cases continue.
