STELCO has taken a significant step towards enhancing the Maldives' energy infrastructure by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China’s TBEA Group Co., Ltd.

This strategic partnership marks the beginning of the largest energy project ever undertaken in the Maldives.

Under the agreement, a high-capacity transmission line will be established, linking Malé, Villimale’, Gulhifalhu, and Thilafushi.

STELCO’s Managing Director, Hussain Fahmi, represented the company at the signing ceremony today, while Vice President Sung Hong Zong signed on behalf of TBEA Group Co., Ltd.

Key aspects of the partnership include the development of the high-capacity transmission line and the dual-fuel power plant, both of which are central to STELCO’s goal of meeting rising energy demands while ensuring sustainability.

The collaboration underscores STELCO’s commitment to future growth through innovative and environmentally-conscious energy solutions.
