President His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with the Governor of Karnataka, His Excellency Thawar Chand Gehlot, as part of his state visit to India.

Accompanied by First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed and a high-level Maldivian delegation, the President engaged in discussions focused on strengthening ties between the Maldives and India.

Governor Gehlot emphasized the importance of President Dr. Muizzu’s visit, noting the long-standing and close relationship between the two neighboring countries.

President Dr. Muizzu expressed gratitude for India’s warm hospitality and highlighted the constructive nature of discussions held during his trip.

He particularly noted the success of business forums in New Delhi and Mumbai, with another planned in Bangalore.

The Chief Minister of Karnataka, His Excellency Siddaramaiah, also participated in the meeting, stressing the potential for deeper collaboration between the Maldives and Karnataka through educational and cultural exchange programs.

Both sides committed to enhancing their bilateral relationship moving forward.
