Japan looks forward to strengthening ties and future cooperation: Japan's Prime Minister
Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has expressed that he wishes to work closely with the Maldives and strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.
Following his appointment, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu welcomed Prime Minister Shigeru with a congratulatory post on 'X' on October 1st, expressing confidence in Japan’s continued progress under his leadership.
President Dr. Muizzu highlighted Japan’s longstanding support in various developmental areas in the Maldives and emphasized his commitment to deepening the friendly relations between the two countries.
In response, Prime Minister Shigeru thanked President Dr. Muizzu for his kind words, reaffirming his intention to enhance cooperation between Japan and the Maldives.
He also stated Japan's commitment to implementing the “Free Open Indo-Pacific Strategy” to strengthen bilateral relations between both countries.
Japan has long been a key development partner for the Maldives, contributing assistance across multiple sectors, further solidifying the strong ties between the two nations.
