President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, accompanied by First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed, has departed this morning for a state visit to the Republic of India.

The visit, scheduled from October 6 to 10, 2024, is being undertaken at the invitation of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu.

During the state visit, President Dr. Muizzu is set to engage in high-level discussions with President Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other senior officials from the Indian government.

These meetings are expected to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.

This marks President Dr. Muizzu’s first official visit to India since assuming office in November last year, highlighting the importance of continued diplomatic cooperation between the Maldives and India.
