The President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has implemented significant changes to the Cabinet, with the presentation of letters of appointment to the newly selected ministers taking place this afternoon at the President’s Office.

Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has been appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, while Moosa Zameer assumes the role of Minister of Finance.

Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has been named the Minister of Health.

The newly appointed officials took their oaths before Justice of Supreme Court, Honourable Mohamed Ibrahim, and subsequently signed the official oath of office.

Dr. Abdulla Khaleel transitions to his new post as Minister of Foreign Affairs, having previously served as Minister of Health.

Moosa Zameer, the new Minister of Finance, was formerly the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, now Minister of Health, had been serving as the Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy.

This Cabinet reshuffle follows the resignation of Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq, the former Minister of Finance, who stepped down from his post earlier today.

This is the first time that President Dr. Muizzu has made changes to his cabinet.
