MDP calls for an investigation into the threats against MP Rozania Adam
Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has called for an investigation into the threats against MP for Addu Meedhoo Constituency and MDP's women's Wing President Rozania Adam.
In a statement, MDP urged everyone to communicate with each other in any dispute arising out of political rivalry and not to engage in any kind of interaction that poses a threat to each other.
"This party will not support anything that calls for violence against anyone and encourages .The party will continue to recognise that the freedom of speech and expression guaranteed by the Constitution should be exercised within the ambit of law in a manner that doesn't violate the Islamic Sharia,".

According to the party, One of the party's guiding principles includes encouraging women to enter the political arena and providing them an opportunity. The statement continued,
"We deplore the open appeal to openly oppress one of the four female MPs in parliament "

The party further stated that this would prevent women from participating in politics and encourage all party members to respect everyone political view.
